Atelier de pâte à modeler électro

Electric playdough

This workshop allows children to explore and grasp basic concepts of an electrical circuit.
They will create conductive and isolating playdough to make an electrical circuit, then shape it into a small sculpture that comes alive using a battery.

Atelier main dansante

Waving hand

This workshop allows children to explore and grasp basic concepts of an electrical circuit and motors.
They will craft and decorate a paper hand, then build a circuit to make the hand wave by turning on a switch connected to a rotating motor. They will explore the use of various dimmers to control the speed of rotation or waving of their hand.

Atelier spirale hypnotique

Hypnotic wheel

This workshop allows children to explore and grasp basic concepts of an electrical circuit and motors.
They will craft and decorate a paper spiral design, then build a circuit to make it turn using a switch connected to a rotating motor or fan. They will explore the use of various dimmers to control the speed and rotation of their wheel.

Robot qui dessine

Drawbot

This workshop will teach kids the basics of electronics, the use of motors and crafts to fabricate few models of drawing robots that create drawings.
Once they’ve built a few models of drawing robots, they create a drawing together on a large sheet of paper. A great introduction to the potential of using man-machine assisted visual arts while playing with tangible materials and working as a team...

Robotique teleguidee

Wireless and robotics

This robotics and wireless technology workshop allows for participants to make a remotely controlled toy car, using littleBits modular circuits.
Participants will learn together how to build an electronic circuit, and how to use parts such as wireless transmitters and receivers while having a good time playing with their toy car.

Javascript

Javascript coding

The “Javaclick!” workshop is an introduction to coding using Javascript with the intent of programming a surrealist virtual creature and control it’s behaviour within a web page.
The participants will see their creature evolve and change in real time as they try different code formulas and combinations, and get instant feedback through the process.

Scratch

Coding with Scratch

This coding workshop allows participants to start tackling with the open source platform “Scratch”, developed by the MIT. In the Scratch environment, they can learn essential concepts of programming, and explore design constraints and problem solving while making interactive stories, game and animations.
The participants will be able to acquire skills and continue working on their model from home.

Scratch

Coding with Scratch (long)

This coding workshop allows participants to start making their own game with the open source platform “Scratch”, developed by the MIT. In the Scratch environment, they can learn essential concepts of programming, and explore design constraints and problem solving while making interactive stories, game and animations.
The participants will be able to acquire skills and continue working on their model and game from home and engage with other users.

Pop up band

Popup Band

Participants are facilitated by musician mentors that give the groups small workshops throughout the hackathon. Their goal is to create a collaborative piece of music in smaller sub-groups, as an ephemeral music band… The mentors help guide and structure their process and tackle with new tools from which can generate surprising results!
